fantastic job, the song is money, total. everything is happening, don’t think the drum part could be better. i collect quotes, Tyson’s is one of my favorites to make me smile. don’t guilt yourself on the postings, you had a plan and, well….

tell your uncle the boxing fan you have a subscriber who cooked privately for Ali, i made him a special soup based on things i had read about him, we chatted a bit, the icon of Black pride and resistance said to me “the food was so good I thought the cook was colored”!? colored?, well, a hell of a compliment from The Champ

thanks so much for the song post, well worth the wait and i’m not surprised

Incredible story - and one I will certainly pass on to my uncle. Ali was an icon for boxing fans and non-boxing fans alike. I hope all of this is going into your memoir.

Yeah, I love the drum part. Stella Mozgawa is a brilliant musician. My favourite part of the song is the fill she does around 2 mins 10 seconds. The parts worked well with my original guitar line (the one that sits in the centre of the mix). Who knows, maybe one day we'll do a proper session together.

Thanks for your kind words.

What an amazing song! I love the use of the rhythm part - you’ve built it together seamlessly. As always the lyrics are a treasure trove of brilliant word play and imagery - so glad you reproduce them along with the songs. And that chorus! That’s a proper earworm (perhaps a fitting metaphor to go alongside your brilliantly dark and defiant memento mori theme). Good to have you back!

Thank you, Anna. It was an interesting experiment to work in this way, and I'm glad it seems to have worked. I'm pleased with how the parts worked with the drum track. I have a few more of these recordings to share in the coming weeks.

Love the samba rhythms of this — and the Jacobean lyrics!

Haha! Thank you. That's an unusual combination - one I'll try to repeat in the future.

This is, as Justin appropriately put it, so money. One of my absolute OP favourites, music and lyrics.
