I blinked and two months slipped past. Anyway, I am still here (more or less), and I am still working on music (more or less).
Over the past couple of months, I’ve been trying to wrangle a new EP into shape, but I’m in the trenches with it at the moment. There’s a reason most people get collaborators when doing these projects.
Anyway, alongside the EP, which was meant to be a solo thing but now might be another Orange Peel release (it’s all me on my own, so what difference does it make, really), I’ve been making more ambient sketches. This one is actually two ideas I blended together.
I’ve been having some fun experimenting with reverse echos on this one. Also, I’ve been exploring some further ‘off-the-map’ guitar tunings. This one is tuned to DADFAC, which creates some nice chord voicings.
Red Velvet is a type of cake and also a K-Pop band. The song is named after neither of these things.
So yeah, I’m thinking that I need to set myself another challenge for what’s left of this year, so that I can stay on track with my music output. I’ll come back to you on that soon.
